What a weekend!! Starting off with late-March snow didn't slow down our first ever UVM District Event. No wonder a Vermont team is called Bad Weather.
The University of Vermont hosted 32 teams from Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Connecticut and of course, Vermont!
Thank you to our special guests and speakers:
Co-founder of Boston Scientific and visionary FIRST in Vermont champion, John Abele
UVM Acting Provost & Senior Vice President, Linda Schadler
UVM’s Acting Dean of CEMS, Mandar Dewoolkar
UVM Assistant Professor & FIRST alum/mentor, Dr. Laura Treers
GlobalFoundries Senior Project Manager, Otto Funke
FIRST Chief Operating Officer, Chris Rake
All 9 home-state teams competed at the event, with the highest-ranked VT team being named the Vermont State Champion for 2025!
It's never too cold for ice cream up north: Ben & Jerry's was scooping free ice cream all weekend! We loved seeing Dr. Woodie Flowers featured on the robot-sized Americone Dream container, driving around the REEFSCAPE field.
We hope teams had a blast at this brand new event!
