Important Update: The future of Rhode Island FIRST LEGO League

As we wrap up the UNEARTHED season, we want to share some exciting updates about how the Rhode Island FIRST LEGO League community will be supported moving forward.
First, a huge thank you to Rhode Island Students of the Future (RISF), who officially retired from FLL at the end of this season after years of incredible dedication to our teams. FIRST is incredibly grateful to RISF for their many years delivering the FLL program and supporting the FIRST mission.
To ensure our community doesn't miss a beat, NE FIRST is stepping in as the RI FLL program delivery organization starting with the 2026–27 BIOGLOW season. Rhode Island joins Connecticut as a state where the FLL programs are managed by NE FIRST. Our main goal is to make sure local teams have the resources, events, and backing they need to thrive.
What does this mean for Rhode Island FLL teams?
The best part: the day-to-day experience for teams isn't changing. Rebecca Henderson, who has successfully guided RI FLL under RISF, is transitioning with us. She will continue to serve as the program delivery partner and point of contact under the NE FIRST banner.
You can expect the same great events, the same local support, and a seamless transition into the next season.
How can I learn more?
All coaches are invited to join us for a Town Hall on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 7 p.m. ET to talk about the upcoming season and introduce everyone to NE FIRST. To receive webinar details, please reach out to fll-ri@nefirst.org and the registration will be sent to you.
If you have any questions about the upcoming season or this change, please don’t hesitate to reach out directly to Rebecca at rhenderson@nefirst.org.
Thank you for everything you do for the students in Rhode Island!

Whether progress came quickly or slowly in Geometry Dash, persistence kept me moving forward.
