FIRST LEGO League

FIRST® LEGO® League guides youth through STEM learning and exploration at an early age. From Discover, to Explore, and then to Challenge, students will understand the basics of STEM and apply their skills in an exciting competition or exhibition while building habits of learning, confidence, and teamwork skills along the way.

Learn more about UNEARTHED when it launches on August 5, 2025!

Three levels of FIRST LEGO League help children progress their interest and knowledge of STEM subjects. Our youngest students Discover the fundamentals of STEM while building LEGO DUPLO models to solve the challenge. They then Explore further, putting their skills into practice with LEGO Spike Essentials technology. Finally, students rise to the Challenge by competing as a team in a mission-based robotics game.

Join in the fun! NE FIRST events are open to the public.

A typical competition starts with teams arriving, getting set up, and practicing before they participate in matches that determine their qualification ranking.  Events will include an opening ceremony each morning, a lunch break (concessions available!) and a concluding awards ceremony! When you arrive, look for the info desk to find the day's schedule or a map of where teams from near you are set up.
