Updated: Sep 10

It is with heavy hearts that we learned of the passing of Steve Cremer, an incredible supporter of the FIRST mission and a dedicated teacher of us all.

Steve was part of the rookie class of FIRST Senior Mentors in 2005, originally working with teams from Boston and Connecticut and then Massachusetts and Rhode Island. He later became a Regional Director in Massachusetts and transitioned with the founding of the New England District from 2013 until he retired in early 2020.

He taught physics for more than 35 years in the Braintree Public Schools. After retirement, Steve found a second career in robotics education, where he had an outsized impact on so many FIRST students, teams and programs.

A funeral service for Steve will be held on Wednesday, September 9th at 12:00 PM at the Schlossberg Family's Chapel on the Hill in Canton, with interment to follow at Sharon Memorial Park. A Zoom link is also available starting at 11:45 a.m.

Please see Legacy.com or the Schlossberg Chapel website for more details and to leave a note in his memory. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to either:

Thank you for sharing your memories of Steve and his long history with FIRST. Please feel free to send this to anyone that knew Steve or his story.
