[FTC MA] Scrimmages + Volunteering

Hello Teams!

I hope you have had a productive few weeks of the FTC Season. Many thanks and congratulations to the 6 teams who made it out to the Robot in 3 Weeks Scrimmage at Deerfield Academy yesterday; we had 6 working robots! It was great to see the game in live action. 

Scrimmages

We already have 3 more Scrimmages scheduled this season, and I am happy to post any scrimmage which would like to open up to public sign up. Please fill out the Public Scrimmage List form. Please note that filling out this form is a requirement to borrow MA FTC Equipment for a scrimmage.

Here are the three scrimmages we have upcoming so far:

• Bolts, Boos, and Bots Scrimmage @ Westford Academy, Westford on 10/25 - Sign-Up Form

• Wolfpack Scrimmage @ Waring School, Beverly on 11/15 - Sign-Up Form

  • Technical Volunteer Training Will Be Offered at this Scrimmage - Volunteer with the Tech Trainee role to let us know you're coming, and let us know what your experience level is. 

• Bots 'n Tea Party Scrimmage @ Winsor School, Boston on 12/5 - Sign-Up Form

Qualifier Event Venues

I am still actively working on the Qualifier Schedule, and am approaching finalization of the complete schedule. At this time, I am most in need of a venue in Central MA (i.e. between I-95 and Worcester) January 23/24, or February 13/14. If your team would be interested in hosting, please reach out. 

Volunteering

We have an amazing community of dedicated event volunteers and we would love to have you join our amazing team of event volunteers if you're able! If you would like to receive updates about event volunteering, including emergency volunteer asks, please fill out our Volunteer Mailing List Form. Please note that we generally do not accept Lead Coach 1 and Lead Coach 2's of teams for judging roles, but we can mitigate conflict of interest concerns in other roles easily.

If your team's recent alumni are close to home, or will be home around Qualifier time, encourage them to volunteer if they're able! It's a single day of commitment to stay connected with the FTC Program. There are plenty of roles that do not have conflict of interest concerns, and FIRST alums, especially FTC Alums, make great FTC Volunteers.
