Final FRC REEFSCAPE qualifier in New Hampshire recognizes FIRST Robotics Awareness Month

Updated: Mar 26, 2025

The REEFSCAPE season is flying.... or swimming? by SO quickly! Week 4 in New England featured two of our collegiate venues in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

At our largest event before DCMP this year, the University of New Hampshire hosted 41 teams from New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts and Connecticut.

Special thank you to our many guest speakers from the UNH District Event:

  • UNH President Elizabeth Chilton

  • UNH Dean of College of Engineering and Physical Sciences Erin Bell

  • BAE Systems Senior Principal Systems Engineer Jenn Schelly

  • Bring Back the Trades Administrative Director Shana Brunye

  • Community College System of New Hampshire GBCC President Dr. Cheryl Lesser

On Saturday, there was a special recognition of local FTC team 21689, Team Tesseract. Their hard work led to a proclamation from NH Governor Kelly Ayotte naming April as FIRST Robotics Awareness Month for New Hampshire. This proclamation marks the culmination of our local events in April from the New England District Championship to the New England FTC Premier Event, all the way to the world stage at the FIRST Championship in Houston. It’s such a great reminder of the passion and innovation driving our FIRST community forward!

And on Sunday, we were excited to have final matches guest emceed by Executive VP and COO of FIRST, Chris Rake! We love having him (and his shiny suit jacket!) on our fields!
