Sam Spain, Communications & Advancement Director
Sam Spain officially joined New England FIRST in September 2024, after serving as the volunteer webmaster and social media manager. Her focus is on advancing the mission of the organization and sharing information with its community. She is a 2006 alum of FRC team 230 from Shelton, CT, and has mentored FRC and FLL teams all over the district in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut.
Sam has served as a Senior Volunteer Coordinator for the district, having been the VC for dozens of FRC and FLL events since 2012; including the former Connecticut Regional, the inaugural New England District Championship, and divisions at FIRST Championships in St. Louis, Detroit and Houston. She is a lead mentor for FRC team 3182 and FLL team 60303 out of MakerspaceCT in downtown Hartford and co-chair of the Hartford District Event.
Prior to joining NE FIRST, Sam was a senior client success manager with Finalsite, a global leader in digital communications, website development, and online marketing for private and public schools. She is a graduate of Boston College with degrees in communications and philosophy and the leader of the BC Hartford Alumni Chapter.
Sam lives in Newington, Connecticut with her husband (a fellow FRC mentor) and two sons.
